How to Create an AdWords Account: Without a Campaign

Have you ever asked yourself, 'Can I skip creating a campaign when setting up a Google Ads account?' I was eager to access the Keyword Planner tool without starting a campaign or adding a credit card. In this brief blog post, I’ll show you exactly how to set up a Google Ads account without needing to launch a campaign or enter any payment details

  1. Go to ads.google.com and click Start Now.
  2. Log in using the Gmail account you prefer to use.
  3. When prompted, click + New Google Ads Account.

  1. Scroll to the very bottom of the page and click on: "Are you a professional marketer? Switch to Expert Mode."

  1. Once in Expert Mode, click on "Create an account without a campaign" located in the lower-left corner.
  1. Confirm your billing country, time zone, and currency preferences. Then click "Submit."
  1. Congrats! You've successfully set up your account. Now, click "Explore your account" to get started.
  1. To access Keyword Planner, navigate to the upper right-hand corner and click on "Tools and settings." From the dropdown menu, select "Keyword Planner."
  1. Click on "Discover new keywords" to start finding new keyword ideas.
  1. Now that your Google Ads account is set up, let's dive into keyword research! Enter up to 10 relevant keywords that you want your blog to rank for, hitting the “Return” key after each one. Then, click "GET RESULTS" to see each keyword’s search volume and variations.
