Doenjang Jjigae - Korean soybean paste stew (된장찌개)
Deonjang Jjigae is one of the famous comfort food in Korea along with Kimchi Jjigae(Kimchi stew) It goes well with any Korean food such as Samgyupsal(Pork belly) or Bulgogi(Beef BBQ) Ingredients (Serves 2) Beef striploin 100g 1/2 white onion 100g Zucchini 80g Potato 100g Tofu 100g Green chili 20g Deonjang paste 30g Chili flakes 15g (optional) Recipe 1 Cut onion, zucchini, potato and tofu into bite size slice green chili thinly Cut beef into bite size You can use any part of beef which contains fat 2 Preheat a small pot Sauté the beef about 2-3 minutes until no longer pink Add 400ml of water to a boil dissolve 2Tablespoons of Doenjang paste If you like to add spicy kick, add 1 tablespoon of chili flakes 3 Add potato, zucchini, white onion, green chili and tofu Cook for 6-8 minutes until veggies are cooked 4 Remove from heat, and enjoy with warm rice Enjoy!
