태국어로 ‘밤과 낮(Night and Day)’이라는 뜻의 ‘니사티와’는 태국의 전통음악과 일렉트로닉, 로우파이, 힙합이 결합된 음악을 선보이는 듀오 밴드다 이들은 자신의 음악을 ‘포크트로니카’로 정의한다 태국 전통 현악기 쏘두앙(Saw Duang), 쏘우(Saw U), 핀(Phin)과 관악기 깬(Khaen)을 기반으로 오래된 민속음악을 현대적인 일렉트로닉 사운드로 재구성한다 밤과 낮처럼 서로 다른 두 음악, 전통과 현대가 함께 공존하는 음악을 만드는 것이 이들의 목표다 Nisatiwa, which means ‘night and day’ in Thai, is a duo whose music combines traditional Thai music with electronic, lo-fi and hip-hop influences They define their music as “folktronica ” Based on the traditional Thai stringed instruments such as saw duang, saw u, and phin and the wind instrument khaen, they reconstruct old folk music into a modern electronic sound Their aim is to create music in which two two different the genres – the traditional and the modern – coexist together as night and day
