천수관음보살도 고려 14세기 비단에 색 보물 제2015호 고려 유일한 천수관음보살도 천수관음보살은 무수히 많은 손과 눈으로 중생을 구원합니다. 우리나라에서 천수관음보살 신앙은 『삼국유사』에 확인될 정도로 역사가 깊지만 그림으로 전하는 천수관음보살도는 이 작품이 유일합니다. 이 천수관음보살은 11면의 얼굴과 44개의 손을 지닌 모습입니다. 각각의 손에 좋은 의미를 지닌 물건이 들려 있습니다. 광배에 수많은 눈을 그려 ‘천안’을 상징적으로 나타내었습니다. Faith in this omniscient bodhisattva has a long history in Korea, as recorded in Samguk yusa (Memorabilia of the Three Kingdoms), but this is the only surviving ancient painting depicting the deity with numerous hands. Avalokiteshvara as described in this painting has eleven faces and forty-four hands, each holding an object with auspicious meaning.
